SonicSens 3 is an intrinsically safe level sensor developed for use in multiple applications, including sewer level monitoring.

Through the use of ultrasonic technology, SonicSens 3 avoids contact with its environment.  This is beneficial as it reduces the risk of the device getting contaminated and lowers the requirement for maintenance.

SonicSens has been designed for flexibility and as such is compatible with a variety of HWM data loggers, including Intelligens and the new IS Log.  The SonicSens device is powered directly by the logger, which in turn can be connected to an external battery pack, extending the system life and supporting more frequent call-in.

An additional feature of the new SonicSens 3 is an Unwanted Echo Filter, which is designed to filter out echoes caused by obstructions such as ladder rungs.  This feature is particularly useful when deploying SonicSens 3 in challenging installation sites.

There are two variants of SonicSens 3 available, covering ranges between 22mm–6m and 300mm-10m.  This flexibility makes SonicSens 3 the ideal sensor for:

• CSO monitoring
• Blockage monitoring and incident prevention
• Reservoir levels
• Flow monitoring (combined with velocity sensors)
• Level to flow conversion for flumes and weirs
