HWM is pleased to announce our latest development in leak detection over larger distances; PermaNET TM (Hydrophone) GPS.
By combining the proven sensitivity of our new Hydrophone 2 with our advanced-telemetry data logger and GPS Time Synchronisation, PermaNET TM GPS delivers accurate leak noise detection and correlation over greater distance on plastic and large diameter pipes.
Developed as a flexible solution, PermaNET TM GPS can also be supplied with pressure and flow inputs to deliver multi-parameter monitoring and detect problems as they arise, with the pressure channel supporting a fast-logging mode to detect transients.
The system is battery-powered by the logger, while connection to additional battery packs can support accelerated dial-in and fast logging. As a self-powered solution, no expensive mains or solar power infrastructure is required, meaning the PermaNET TM GPS has the flexibility for fixed or portable, short or long-term deployments.
PermaNET TM GPS’s noise channel can be used in either HWM’s standard logging mode or provide continuous sampling with profile alarms for more immediate burst detection, or identify emerging leaks.
When the usual profile is breached, an alarm is generated and transmitted. A sound recording is created on alarm and through HWM’s cloud software, PermaNET Web, GPS Time Synchronisation is performed to provide accurate remote correlation. When flow and pressure channels are in use, they will provide confirming data and additional alarms.
PermaNET TM GPS has been developed for rapid deployment at a fraction of the cost of traditional trunk main monitoring systems, delivering flexible and multi-parameter leak detection over greater distance and in large and non-metallic pipelines.
