Early in 2022, a UK-based water and sewerage company approached HWM with the requirement for a UKCA (ATEX) battery-powered, non-contact MCERTS level monitoring solution.
The utility planned to install event duration monitoring (EDM) at a number of treatment plants in order to record and report WwTW overflows to storm tanks as recommended by the U_MON3 drivers released as part of AMP7.
Having worked closely with this utility company for a number of years, and as their incumbent supplier of battery-powered wastewater monitoring products, HWM was entrusted with developing a solution that fulfilled the requirements laid out.
When initially proposing the project, the utility company made clear that the system was to feature the Vega C21 radar level sensor. To compliment this sensor, and to meet the utilities UKCA (ATEX) requirements, HWM proposed combining the C21 with our Intelligens WW data logger and ESIB power pack.
All components are UKCA (ATEX) approved and compatible with a variety of third-party sensors.
Intelligens WW was the obvious choice for this level monitoring application. It is used in-conjunction with an external battery which also powers the connected sensors, making it particularly suitable for ‘fit and forget’ long-term installations.
